Mollymook is a part of Greater Ulladulla and part of a coastal area that stretches from Ulladulla to Narrawallee. Mollymook is well know for its surf beach and for the Mollymook Golf Club that runs alongside Mollymook beach. Mollymook is named after an albatross, the 'Mollymawk'. Mollymook is part of a development that stretches from Ulladulla through Mollymook to Narrawallee.

Mollymook was first settled by the Dhurja, Walbanja and Wadandian Aborigines. Captain Cook sighted a peaked hill that appeared like a dove house and he named it Pigeon House and is to the west of Mollymook.
